Father's Day Lego race at Toys-R-Us

Here is what we got, a certificate , a tattoo, and a Lego Pencil. Our race time was 2.7 sec, I think the winner was 1.8 sec. Let me tell ya! we were not impressed with the way it was run. The store itself did it, the race track timer failed before it even started, It just kept counting and would not stop no matter what they tried to do to fix it. So the TRU employee used his ipod timer, not so sure he was dead on with the button pressing. I'm surprised that the local LEGO(R) retail Rep was not there cheering the kids on, as I think this would have been a great opportunity. It was thrown together and was not to our LEGO(R) calibre that I would and have grown to expect, sorry, that is my rant on that. The big giveaway was the Ferrari Set # 8123. For $3.00 more LEGO or TRU could have Gave away this set #8168 a much better set with 3 minifigs and real looking cars, not the micro cars like in the 8123 set. The main thing was we had fun building our own car and racing it down the track. Freddie!

This leaves me with an idea for our shows coming up. I think i will build a race track, so that the kids can build a car and race it against their buddies. Probably have an RCX or NXT brick control the timer circuit, with a couple of sensors , one at the start, and one at the end, Tada! much better than an IPod, and it's LEGO all the way.

I rounded out Father's Day recieving set#7641 City Corner as a gift from my family, pretty cool day. Thanks to my Family and everyone who views my videos!

Episode 6

Well Episode 6 is done, but I decided to change the animations at the beginning and do an even better job, so it won't be up until next week, I have some family stuff to do until then, cus this has been taking toooo much of my family time..
so until then, enjoy what is here.

newly released LEGO sets

Here is the new sets released, the email just came from Lego a few minutes ago. I bought the camper the other day and it looks swell, only I will have to mod it a-bit, and put an air conditioner on it, another roof vent, microwave inside, and hey they are missing one of camping's most important things "A toilet" especially in an RV... Also not to keen on the sticker sheet, so I think I'll have to do it up like our Itasca Motorhome. The squidman escape is cool, just built as well. I will post a video after of it.

I added a site Hit counter so I can see how many people visit the site!
I'm transferring over everything to this site, so this is it from now on.

comment from viewer

I finally got around to watching you shows.
Good job! I really enjoyed them and am looking forward to the next one.

Nice tip on the double wash tub... you say use a metal screen... why?

Also I'll tell you what I do different to wash bricks.
Keep in mind I'm pretty anal about how clean my previously owned bricks are.

First I'll soak them in in hot water and soap. Hot from the tap so not hot enough to melt anything. Then after a few hours of that I find that a lot of dirt on the inside of the tubes will loosen up. After a few changes of water most dirt is gone.

For dirt stuck between the studs I use an old tooth brush. Yep I sometimes have too much time on my hands but sometimes it a rare part that's worth the effort.

For dirt ground into scratches (particularly on white bricks) you can take a small dab of toothpaste with that old tooth brush and it will lift the dirt right out. It will however also take the shine off of the surface but if it's all scratched then that usually is not a big deal.

If the bricks are from a smoker a long soak in strong vinegar solution will chemically lift the tar on the surface which is why the smell sticks with it.
